Unable to write a trigger in Performance Edition.

I am trying to write a trigger in my Performance edition but its show that in Active enviorment you can't create it. what is the reason behind this.
Any help.

Hi Amit,
i know these things, in Performance edition we can write trigger but i am not unable to write. Whenever i am trying to write it show a dialouge box with a message that "can't write a trigger in Active enviorment "

It look like you create one Performance edition (production) which is now activated. You need to raise a case in salesforce for same or you need to create sandbox for development .
