Deleted Report

Trying to create a new report with the same name as the one I just deleted but I get the error stating that that file name already exists. Any ideas on how to fix this?

do you see a recycle bin on the left side of the screen?
open it and empty its content (empty your recycle bin - button).

then you're good to go.

++  It might be when we delete report, it goes into the Recycle Bin section. Even though when we delete it from Recycle Bin section, It has to delete from Salesforce Backup Servers. The Report might be still exist in the SF database which causing the above error. Every weekend SF performs clean up activities for their data. Once that happen you can able to create Report with the same name that you are looking for.

I emptied it twice and closed everything and I'm still getting this error.

Please follow below steps ,

1)Undelete report from recycle bin.
2)Change that previously deleted report's name.

Then you can save a new report with the old name.

Hi Trevor,

There are two ways to do that,

1.undelete the report in recycle bin and change the name of the old report.

2.Even if you delete in recycle bin report API name will be still in salesforce database for 15 days. So y ou cannot create the same report.But what you can do is create a new report with the same name but API unique name with appending1.

for ex:
Report Name:AccountReport(same old report name)

Report Unique Name:AccountReoprt1
