Hi All,

 

I'm working with the standard Case create page in the Service Cloud Console (SCC) and am looking to override the standard dialogue of the Contact lookup and replace this with a VF Page. We are using Person Accounts so this means we cannot use the provided (but bad) quick create functionality. 

 

I know that this can be done with Javascript and an HTML file on the sidebar but will this work with the SCC? We are trying to avoid having to override our New Case button with a VF Page to achieve this for obvious reasons, so any help/thoughts would be appreciated! 

 

Another thought is to use a SCC Custom Components as a Sidear or popup to search and select OR create a new Contact, then update the other Case details in the centre without adding a Contact (Lookup can be set as Read Only on Case Page Layout). On Case Save we would have to write the selected Contact ID to the lookup or Save the new Contact ID from the VF Page into the Case Contact lookup... 

 

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

can we override a standard lookup icon in salesforce with Visual Force.

If Yes.. Please let me know the steps to acheive this.
