I seem to have a misconception about the Force.com Migration Tool. I'm coming into an environment where there already exist several developer orgs containing projects. I want to pull everything specific to these projects to a local directory structure so I can put it in Subversion. My expectation is that this should be a common requirement easily handled by a single task in the build.xml script, but I can't find it. What am I missing?
