Invisible Children has been using Salesforce.com (Enterprise Edition) since 2008. Our usage now spans across nearly every department in the San Diego headquarters office as well as our program headquarters in Gulu, Uganda and Dungu, Democratic Republic of Congo. Specific applications deployed include contact activity management, HR applications processing, email marketing, customer service, donor management and processing, data management for LRACrisisTracker.com, and management of a variety of data sets for our educational and micro-economic programs in Uganda. Our usage of Salesforce.com was profiled at the 2009 and 2011 Dreamforce conferences as well as the 2012 Cloudforce conference hosted by Salesforce.com in San Francisco.

We are looking for a Salesforce Administrator that will help the organization extend its usage of Salesforce.com, enhance its current applications and workflows, develop a strategy for maintaining data quality, train staff on best practices, build engaging reports and dashboards, and handle data migrations between external applications and Salesforce.com.

We are looking for a person experienced in Salesforce CRM Application Administration, Data Integration and Customization. This person will need to analyze requirements and develop technical designs and components/extensions based around the needs of programs and departments in San Diego as well as Central Africa. S/he will enforce best practices, standards and guidelines related to application development and produce detailed documentation and training to the users of the application and technologies.

Basic Function: Manage Salesforce platform development and maintenance.

 

Invisible Children has been using Salesforce.com since 2008. Our usage now spans across several departments in both the San Diego headquarters office as well as our program headquarters in Gulu, Uganda. Specific applications deployed include contact activity management, HR applications processing, inventory and POS management, customer service, donor management and processing, and management of a variety of data sets for our educational and micro-economic programs in Uganda. Our usage of Salesforce.com was profiled at the 2009 Dreamforce conference hosted by Salesforce.com in San Francisco, and the majority of staff and interns at Invisible Children actively use this platform on a daily basis.

 

This individual will help the organization extend its usage of Salesforce.com, enhance its current applications and workflows, develop a strategy for profiling information contained within Salesforce on the organization’s website, and continue to develop new usages that bring us closer to our goal of a comprehensive, organization-wide solution.

 

Operational Tasks/Responsibilities:

We are looking for a person experienced in Salesforce CRM Application Administration, Development, Data Integration and Customization. This person will need to analyze requirements and develop technical designs and components/extensions based around the needs of programs and departments in San Diego as well as Gulu, Uganda. S/he will enforce best practices, standards and guidelines related to application development and produce detailed documentation and training to the users of the application and technologies.

 

As part of the Invisible Children team, you'll be an integral part of Salesforce projects such as:

- Our Schools for Schools site (http://s4s.invisiblechildren.com), which includes a Force.com custom application, API integration, and workflow rules

- Management of our national tours (http://invisiblechildren.com/screenings), which includes a 60-user team operating across the nation, integration with point of sale, inventory, and financial systems, and heavy reporting and dashboards

- Our LRA Crisis Tracker project launching in September (http://lracrisistracker.com/), which includes a Force.com custom application, API integration, and deployment across a team spread around the US and Congo

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

- Develop new applications as required, integrate Visualforce to facilitate current processes, liaise with our web development team to project information from Salesforce on our website using Sites technology, and suggest usages of new functionality released by Salesforce.com or our AppExchange partners

- Manage existing Salesforce.com CRM applications by developing and maintaining and customizing all functional areas: Applications, objects, record types, page layouts, user profiles, permissions, reports, dashboards, and data import and export

- Identify SalesForce.com usage problems and craft technical / communication plans to remedy

- Maintain workflow rules, field updates, and email alerts

- Act as the primary point of contact for Salesforce users

- Train new users on our Salesforce.com applications Required

 

Skills/Experience:

- Minimum 1 year experience using, administrating, and/or developing Salesforce.com or another CRM platform

- Familiarity with Salesforce programming and development tools, including; API’s, APEX Programming, and triggers preferred

- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

- Formal Salesforce.com training or certification a plus

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience, certifications, and training

IT Infrastructure:

Basic maintenance and enhancement of the existing IT infrastructure is also required.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

- User account and permissions management in active directory and open directory

- Backups of Windows servers and XSAN 40TB servers

Basic desktop support on XP/Vista/Win7 and OSX dealing with connecting to shared mapped drives and printers over multiple subnets.

- Account management and permissions management within organizational staff

- Equipment maintenance, including imaging and deploying a standard configuration laptop and supporting audio-visual kits

 

Required Skills/Experience:
