Job Description

Kiva is seeking an enthusiastic, sharp software engineer to join our rapidly growing team full-time, and help us change the world even faster.

 

Kiva’s awesome Internal Tools Engineering team develops and maintains a broad range of core software applications used in operations across all teams at Kiva.  With Salesforce, Kiva collects and manages information about our partners, volunteers, funders and other members of the Kiva microfinance ecosystem. We also use Salesforce as a front-end for internal business users to help define the values that drive Kiva’s other systems and processes.

 

Responsibilities

 

We’re looking for a Salesforce Software Engineer to help lead the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of related Salesforce solutions within the Internal Tools team here at Kiva. These solutions are comprised of tools that use Salesforce.com, Apex/Visualforce, javascript and PHP applications and interfaces using OAuth and other related technologies.  He or she will also be primarily responsible for the operation, administration, and technical support for our instance(s) on Salesforce.com.

 

Working closely with PM’s, Application Engineers and end users the Salesforce Software Engineer will translate business requirements into smart solutions while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of cloud-computing concepts and our ecosystem.

  Skills & Requirements

 

Required Skills

APEX (pages/triggers/classes), Force.com IDE, VisualForce page controllers, SOQL

Knowledge of Web Services (WSDL, SOAP, XML, JSON…)

Knowledge of RESTful Services (GET, POST, Options, Head)

Object Oriented programming and design specifically designing clean triggers and classes

Experience with Salesforce.com, CRM

Strong communication skills and time management

Desired Skills

HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, MySQL, ant/bash scripting

Other responsibilities

Architecting customer-based solutions and develop products on the Force.com platform using Apex and VisualForce

Defining and refining best practices for customizing Salesforce

Integration of multiple systems with Salesforce

Lead customer-driven solutions utilizing strong technical design skills and strong working relationships with internal groups

A desire and ability to define and model complex business processes and use cases

 

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

2+ years experience in Salesforce software development
