lwc file-upload component on iOS mobile app not working

lightning-file-upload component is not working on iPhone/iPad using the Salesforce Mobile App. After selecting a file or photo to upload, it is not doing anything. Whereas it is working fine on desktop browser though. Any ideas on how to get it working on mobile app?
