Analytics - Error code: MAX_DATA_ROWS_LIMIT_EXCEEDED when trying to upload external csv. I think I need to adjust the metadata file but I'm not sure how

In Einstein analytics I am trying to upload an external .csv file as a dataset. But I keep getting the Error code: MAX_DATA_ROWS_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. I think the metadata file needs to be adjusted but I can't find any documentation on what needs to be done to avoid this error. help!
