Are Name in PublicGroups Unique ? Any supporting link for this ?

I just tried to create a public group with an already used name and it threw this error implying the group names must be unique.

Also as per https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.creating_and_editing_groups.htm&type=5 it states group name is unique name.

The idea(https://ideas.salesforce.com/s/idea/a0B8W00000GdaZNUAZ/public-group-name-should-be-unique) was posted in 2011 and is obsolete for the current situation.

It means Name is not unique and idea is raise for the same ... ?
