Free Text in a Field Update

How do I enter a multi-line value in a Text Field Update?

 

For Example, I want to populate a field with steps:

 

Step 1...

Step 2...

 

I've tried to just put the text in " " but that's not working. Any suggestions?

Thank you, you're right, i meant a Text Area field. I was able to get the answer I was looking for from salesforce support:

 

"Step 1: ..."&BR()&
"Step 2: ..."&BR()&
"Step 3: ..."&BR()

You can't enter multi-line text in 'Text' type field.

Use 'Text Area' or 'Text Area (Long)' type as Data Type instead.
