How to find the old owner name?

Interview question:In accounts the accountowner  is 'X' after that the owner was changed to some 'Y' and again 'Z'  how to i get the details of starting owner('X')? Can anybody answer it for me?

Field History Tracking, if enabled before the owner changes would track the changes from User X to User Y and then from Y to Z.

 

If history tracking was not enabled, I believe your only option would be to contact Salesforce and pay for an audit trail.

For a fee, you can contact Support and request a report of all changes that have been made within Salesforce. I have never used this so I do not know details.
