Hi All,

We are working on POC and trying to integrate SFDC System with Siebel Webservice within VPN.

WSDL file has been imported into SFDC and remote settings point to Siebel server URL. When we try to make a Webservice callout we get an error:-

10:15:09.110 (60110303000)|FATAL_ERROR|System.CalloutException: IO Exception: Read timed out

Siebel System resides behind the firewall and client is reluctant to open-up a firewall to such a large IP Range. We are trying to make a callout without a firewall burn within the VPN.

Is there any other settings/configuration required to achieve this callout to Siebel Webservice within VPN.

Can we use any other tool/mechanism to connect to Siebel System without opening such a large IP Range. Is it possible to limit the IP Range for an SFDC instance.

Please reply in case you have dealt with similar integration. Thank you.

Hello,

We are having two CRM Systems, SFDC and Siebel. To support our business processes, we require SFDC UI to be invoked from Siebel application.

So a user starts from Siebel performing some account management selects an account, clicks a button or link which invokes SFDC application and lands directly on leads or opportunity view for the same customer.

The idea is to provide successful toggling between two applications so that business operations are performed.

We have analysed that we can implement SSO to handle user authentication beween two systems. I would like to know:-
- Which type of authentication (Delegated/Fedrated) will be the best fit.
- Does Siebel support SAML Authentication to implement Federated SSO?
- Is there any other way apart from SSO which can be used to handle this requirement.

Thank you for your help on this.

Regards,
VJ
