Hello SF Dev Community,

I am experiencing a problem where when a Custom Object Record is renamed, the Dropbox folder name associated with this record does not change. This breaks the relationship between the record and the Dropbox folder.

For example, when I rename a Property Name, which is a field in a Custom object name Properties, all Dropbox files associated with that Property Name are no longer found in Salesforce. I believe this is because the Dropbox folder name did not change.

I did some research and came across an article: https://help.dropbox.com/business/salesforce-advanced#renaming
Which states that enable automatic folder renaming is a function that Dropbox/Salesforce supports, however, this functionality only exist with Standard objects and not Custom objects.

I do think an apex trigger could be the solution here, but I'm just not sure where to begin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

- Casey
