I have two questions about the approval process.
 
1. In some instances we have individuals entering requests/records for other users. After saving the record the owner is changed to the person making the request. When the Submit for Approval button is clicked does the approval process trigger based on the owner or the person submitting the request?
 
2. When Reassigning an approval step to another user in the Approval History section it still shows the Assigned To as the original person and the Actual Approver the new person. Does the new person shown as the Actual Approver receive the email alert etc. triggered by that approval step?

Need to confirm that alerts cannot currently be triggered by selection of specific products on an oppty., and if so, does any one have any work arounds or suggestions?
