Link a field under Accounts to a field under Contacts.

I am trying to link a field under Accounts to a field under Contacts.
Ex. I have a Touch Frequancy field (picklist) at the account level, however I am trying to create a field that mirrors the data from the account level to the contact level. If you have any suggestions or answeres on how I can do this please let me know. Thanks!

My first s control - can someone help the n00b?

Ok. So let's say I've built a custom object related the the Contracts object. So in the detail page for the Custom Object, I've got the Contract Number field, which displays the contract to which the object is related. This is nice, however, we really don't remember contracts by this number, but rather by the Contract Name.

Is there a way to use a custom S Control to bring the Contract Name into the custom object's detail page?

I'm not sure i even know where to start.
