When we don't specify the SubTaskType field, how does Salesforce determine what the value should be? A Call is technically a task but SubTaskType is set to Call instead of Task.

I can't figure out how to get IntelliJ approved. Our developer can't login to SF if we have oauth enabled. I also can't find anything on how to create a connectedapp for IntelliJ. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
